In the Know - November 2013

This month: The value of your membership

It’s that time of year when we are all asking the same question as we rush to tie up this year’s projects, develop strategic plans for next year, and scribble shopping lists for Thanksgiving dinner in the margins of our notes at business meetings – “where did the year go and how will I get everything done?”

I’m here to offer you an easy way to lighten all of our workloads – renew your Council for Global Immigration membership as soon as you receive your invoice! The majority of Council for Global Immigration members are on a calendar year dues cycle and should have recently received an invoice for 2014. Your dues lighten your workload by providing us with the resources we need to work with the government to solve your immigration challenges. The less effort we need to spend chasing down dues renewals, the more time we can spend on what we really enjoy – being the only employer-driven network dedicated to advancing employment-based immigration of highly educated professionals worldwide.

We believe that our work has proved our commitment to this mission and the value of your membership. Here are just a few ways your membership has worked for you over the past year:

Best Practices and Professional Development
Advocacy
J-1 Visa Program

The above are just a few examples of how we are working on your behalf to make your job easier. Our continued work together is crucially important. So please renew your commitment to supporting the Council for Global Immigration’s efforts on your behalf by paying your invoice today. If you have any questions about all the benefits available to you, please watch this webinar or feel free to give me a call.

Join Us on Capitol Hill on Nov. 21 – No Matter Where You Are…

As you know, we’ve been working hard to influence immigration reform legislation all year long. From dozens of staff visits with Members of Congress to our members’ individual outreach activities, the Council for Global Immigration’s voice is being heard. SHRM’s Leadership Conference is giving us a great chance to push even harder for our key priorities. While nearly 400 SHRM members will be visiting the Hill, we are also organizing a Virtual Hill Day for our members to add their voice. We will soon be sending you and all members some suggestions on how to participate, including through Twitter and Instagram videos or online letters to your Members of Congress. I hope you will all take part and encourage all our members to join the effort as well. Stay tuned for more on this before Nov. 21.
