ACIP’s Chairman Testified on April 14th at House Subcommittee on Role of the SSA in Verifying Employment Eligibility

​On April 14th, Chairman Sam Johnson (R-TX), of the Committee on Ways and Means’ Subcommittee on Social Security held a hearing on the Social Security Administration’s (SSA’s) role in verifying employment eligibility. ACIP’s Chairman, Austin Fragomen, provided his expertise in testimony. ACIP has called on the government to partner with employers to ensure a legal workforce. Mr. Fragomen's testimony highlighted that effective worksite enforcement policies can be accomplished by working with employers toward certainty and safeguards. The hearing took place at 2 pm ET in room B-318 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
