One Way Immigration Reform Can Improve Government Efficiency

May 1, 2014

Time is money, and each day Congress waits to enact bipartisan immigration reform is one more day employers are forced to deal with our costly and inefficient system – particularly the process used to submit employment-related immigration requests. Trusted Employer is supported by employers and would help.

The Trusted Employer program would save the government and U.S. employers time and money by allowing those with a track record of immigration law compliance to enroll with the government and submit – only once – basic company information, such as the company description and company financials.

Today’s inefficient requirement to file the same information with each new petition makes no sense. With Trusted Employer, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services would not have to re-review the same basic information and employers would experience a more efficient system to access talent that can grow jobs and innovate here in America.

It’s a win-win. Congress, save the government and U.S. employers time and resources – fix the immigration system and enact Trusted Employer this year.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Council for Global Immigration advance U.S. innovation and job growth by assisting organizations with workforce and talent management issues. Learn how immigration will help employers and the economy at employerimmigrationsolutions.org.
